Bruins travel to Corvallis in hope for a split

The UCLA Bruins (9-11, 4-4) will face the Oregon State Beavers (3-5, 9-11) at 4:30 Saturday afternoon in Gil Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon. The Bruins are trying to recover from their disappointing overtime loss to Oregon while the same evening. the Beavers defeated USC 51-45.

Like most of the teams in the Pac10, the Beavers have been somewhat a disappointment to their fans and to some prognosticators. After going 18-18 last year some elected Craig Robinson as the up and coming young coach in the conference.

However, just like in politics, there can be bumps in the road in coaching. The Beavers have hit one of those bumps this year. Their overall record of 8-11 includes disappointing out of conference losses to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Illinois-Chicago. The biggest issue is on the offensive end of the court where Oregon State is last in scoring offense in the conference.
