Defense still dominating in eighth practice
BERKELEY-If there were any doubt that the Cal football team has "ramped up" spring practice as the Bears pass the halfway mark for spring ball, Tuesday's session removed it.
Full pads, crowd noise, referees-all served to show that this is no longer the feeling-out stage for players and coaching staff alike, as Cal barrels headlong into the climax of spring ball: the annual Cal Day scrimmage on April 17.
It was the third straight practice that the Bears have conducted in full pads, and the second in which the defense held a decided edge.
