Trumpy lifts the monkey

WildcatReport.com No one is happier that Northwestern had a 100-yard rusher on Saturday than Pat Fitzgerald. The Wildcat head coach was getting tired of hearing that his team hadn't had a back hit the century mark since the 2008 Alamo Bowl. "Finally everybody can stop talking about it," Fitzgerald said to Big Ten Network reporter Charissa Thompson after the Wildcats' 20-17 win over Indiana. Fitzgerald has Mike Trumpy to thank for retiring that dubious stat and getting the monkey off the Wildcats' back. He rushed for a season-high 110 yards on 21 carries against the Hoosiers.
