Bost ready to return
After missing the first 14 games of the season Dee Bost is back in a familiar spot, the starting lineup.
The Mississippi State junior point guard had to sit out the entire fall semester due to academic issues and an additional nine games after failing to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft on time. Now Bost is hoping to make up for lost time beginning with Alabama on Saturday.
"I'm not nervous, I'm just ready to play and get that first game over with," Bost said.
Bost has started all 72 games he has played in since arriving at MSU two seasons ago. The preseason All-SEC selection has averaged 11.9 points and 4.8 assists during his career in Starkville.
Last season the 6-foot-2, 176-pounder put up 13 points a game and was second in the conference in assists with 188 on the year.
Bost did appear in Mississippi State's Dec. 15 exhibition win over Belhaven in Jackson. He played 35 minutes finishing with 26 points, nine assists and three steals.
Watching his teammates struggle in the non-conference portion of the schedule has been hard for Bost as he was not permitted to travel with the team on the road and did not participate fully at practice until recently.
