Parker Getting Used to All Norman has to Offer
Last fall Steven Parker admitted, following a trip to Norman for the Thanksgiving weekend Bedlam shootout, that he considered committing. The nation's No. 114 prospect in the recently released Rivals250 seems to have let that moment pass but still got plenty of enjoyment out of his recent trip to Norman for the Sooners Feb. 2 junior day.
"I've been down there, like you said, a couple of times, I've seen the campus a lot and I've taken the tour a few times, the only thing I hadn't seen was the learning center and just what they do for their athletes as far as tutoring wise," Parker said. "I got to go in the weight room and in the indoor facility they explained some of their workouts, some of what they do, it gave me a better understanding of going through their routines."
During the junior day the Sooners, as ever, had a players panel for recruits to ask questions of current players. Though the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back was attentive to the questions and answer segment he has the advantage not shared by many of his contemporaries of a close friend on the Sooner roster.
