Turner's verbal another feather in Koufos' cap
Daequan Cook could go down in history not only as a very good player for the Ohio State basketball team but also as the recruit who helped get everything rolling in the Thad Matta era.
A 6-4 guard from Dayton, Cook was the first player to commit in a 2006 class that eventually included the likes of Greg Oden, Mike Conley and David Lighty, a group, when JUCO Othello Hunter was added as the fifth and final piece, that ranks with some of the all-time best hauls both at Ohio State and in college basketball.
Picking up where Cook left off is big man Kosta Koufos, and affable 7-1 center from Canton who is making sure OSU is stockpiled in the years after Cook, Oden and company.
Actually Koufos committed after swingman Jon Diebler of Upper Sandusky but he's becoming another important centerpiece for the OSU recruiting effort.
