Ready for the Big 12 Conference season? How's this for starters: Texas Tech will try to hand rival Texas A&M its first loss of the season in College Station on Saturday afternoon on ABC. Then Kansas will try to earn back-to-back wins over Nebraska for the first time in 38 years as the Jayhawks look to beat the No. 21-ranked Huskers and end an 18-game losing streak in Lincoln on Fox Sports Net.

Funny thing about Bill Callahan and Mark Mangino. Both head coaches earlier in the week tried to downplay last season's 40-15 win by the Jayhawks in Lawrence, which ended the Huskers' 36-game stranglehold on the series.

What does that mean? Both coaches want this win about as badly as Bob Stoops wants another shot at the last 2 minutes against Oregon. (Translation: They want it bad! bad! bad!)
