State yet to break through
Mississippi State wasted a career day from Mike Henig, Tony Burks, and Jamayel Smith. Henig threw for 384 yards, Burks caught seven passes for 192 yards with two touchdowns, and Smith was on the receiving end of six of Henig's passes for 93 yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough to overcome a balance attack from Kentucky.
Kentucky shot out of the gate with two first quarter touchdowns, one to Keenan Burton and the other to Dicky Lyons, Jr. The Wildcats of Kentucky took their opening possession 10-plays and covered 82 yards with the final 16 coming Woodson in the air.
