After playing very limited minutes during his first active season with UNLV, former five-star center Beas Hamga has received his release from the Mountain West School.

Hamga's guardian, Mark Adams of the Indiana Elite travel team, confirmed with Rivals.com that Hamga has been officially released by the Runnin' Rebels.

After choosing UNLV over Indiana and Kentucky in the spring of 2007, the 7-foot Hamga was academically ineligible to play last season.

During the summer, Hamga was a solid contributor for the Rebels during their Australian trip. However, Hamga saw very limited action this season.

He played in five of the first nine games, averaging just 5.2 minutes, one point and 0.8 rebounds per game.

Hamga, who has been released to any school outside the Mountain West, will begin to formulate a new school list over the weekend, according to Adams.
