Dallas DE set to visit
After decommiting from Baylor, South Oak Cliff DE Jacquies Smith saw the Missouri Tigers move to the front of his recruiting list. For a while, it seemed like making a trip to Columbia would be an impossible task. With only a few weeks left in recruiting, Smith was finally able to set a date of when he will be in Columbia.
For Smith, the past few weeks have seen offers coming in every day. He admitted he didn't expect to see so many offers come in late, but now is a matter of sorting them all out, especially with other schools also showing some interest of late.
Smith said that he has been talking quite a bit with Missouri coach Bruce Walker over the past several weeks and the two men have enjoyed the chances they've gotten to talk. Although they haven't spoken much face to face, Smith said he is looking forward to meeting Walker on his visit and seeing what the coach has been talking about.
The Tigers have been one of the teams on Smith for a good portion of recruiting. Smith said that it was exciting to see Missouri in his hometown for the Cotton Bowl. Watching the game, Smith said that it reinforced all the reasons he had the Tigers near the top of his list for some time.
For the past several weeks, two schools have stayed at the top of Smith's list, Missouri and Michigan State. With signing day fast approaching, do those two schools still have the edge in recruiting, or do they have company at the top?
All the attention that has come quickly has put a rush on Smith making a second decision in recruiting. Smith said, however, that he thinks by the end of his final visit, he will know where he wants to spend his college years.
