Commitments continue to roll in for FSU

Talk about Jackson's commitment on the world's most active FSU Recruiting Message Board

Commitments have been rolling in at a furious pace for Florida State as of late. The latest, Malique Jackson from Jesup, Ga., becomes the fourth recruit to pull the trigger for the Seminoles over the past two days. The 5-foot-11, 168-pound athlete cited a variety of factors in his decision to pick the Seminoles.

"I like the school, the campus and love the coaches," Jackson told Warchant.com. "It's great, I love the feeling."

Also helping FSU's cause is former Wayne County teammate and cousin Tre Jackson, who is the starting right guard for the Seminoles.

"When he started playing for them I started watching them a lot," said Jackson. "That's what made me like them."

The player nicknamed 'Bones' is the starting quarterback for Wayne County High School. Last season he threw for approximately 1,600 yards and ran for another 900 for the Yellow Jackets. However, at FSU's camp he worked out at both wide receiver and cornerback. But it looks like his future will be on defense.

"They want me at cornerback," said Jackson, who has never played defense before. "He (Jeremy Pruitt) saw that I have a lot of talent and was very athletic. So he tried me at cornerback and really liked me there... He said I was very quick and explosive."

The sleeper athlete may not be not be the last player from Wayne County to commit to Florida State. Teammate Jeremy Patterson, a three-star OL/DL, is being actively recruited by the Seminole coaches and it sounds like the two could continue to be teammates at the college level.

"He said he's going to make a decision and try to go to Florida State," explained Jackson. "It would be great."

Jackson's other offers include Cincinnati, Arkansas, Middle Tennessee, Missouri and NC State. He says he is set with his commitment to FSU but may still visit some other schools.
