Waldorf (Md.) Thomas Stone cornerback Juwuan Briscoe's recruitment appears over barely after just getting started.

Briscoe (6-0, 185) committed to Clemson on Saturday night, he told Tigerillustrated.com - less than three weeks after the Tigers accounted for his first major offer. Tigerillustrated.com first told its readers on May 12 odds favored Briscoe committing by the end of the weekend.

He made the pledge an hour after visiting campus for the first time, accompanied by his mother and two other guests.

"It was great," Briscoe said. "Coach Dabo (Swinney) is very real. He's all about developing his players."

"Everything about Clemson stood out."

Briscoe held offers from Rutgers, Old Dominion and Toledo before Clemson area recruiter and defensive backs coach Mike Reed conveyed his offer.

Since then, he has gained offers from N.C. State, West Virginia, Maryland and Charlotte.

Ohio State tried to convince him not to commit so it could have an assistant coach evaluate him during spring practice next week, while Penn State, Indiana, Iowa, Wake Forest and Illinois have also stopped by his school.

Briscoe visited Maryland last week and went by N.C. State on Friday en route to Clemson.

He primarily played running back as a junior, registering 1,023 yards and 14 touchdowns on 162 carries. But he also netted two interceptions in limited defensive back work, including one for a touchdown.

Briscoe stood out at last month's Nike camp in Washington, D.C, posting a 4.43 40 time while impressing multiple industry observers with his first performance at a recruiting camp.

He is expected to debut as a mid three-star prospect in the Rivals.com rankings next week.
