CLEMSON -- The Clemson Tigers (8-0, 6-0) now know where they stand in the eyes of the College Football Playoff committee heading into the first weekend of November.

Tuesday night the Tigers debuted at No. 4 in the initial CFP rankings, trailing Tennessee, Ohio State and Georgia respectively.
Clemson has been to the College Football Playoffs in six of the last seven years, taking home two national championships.
The Tigers will face Notre Dame (5-3) Saturday in South Bend (Ind.) in a 7:30 p.m. ET, primetime, matchup televised by NBC. The Tigers are a 4-point favorite over the Irish.
