ROEBUCK, S.C. -- Clemson's coaching staff gained its fourth verbal commit of the 2012 recruiting class Monday when longtime Tiger projection (OL) Patrick Destefano picked Clemson, after claiming dozens of offers this spring.
Destefano, who was recruited to Clemson by wide receivers coach Jeff Scott, announced his intentions Monday shortly after 3 p.m. at Dorman High.
The 2010 Dabo Swinney camper also claimed offers from Penn State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, N.C. State, Illinois, North Carolina and a host of others.
Destefano is billed by Tigerillustrated.com as one of the top 15 prospects overall regardless of position in the Palmetto State for the class of 2012. He is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com.
The Roebuck product joins Central - D.W. Daniel defensive end Shaq Lawson, offensive lineman Jay Guillermo of Maryville, Tenn. and wideout Germone Hopper of Charlotte, NC in Clemson's 2012 class.
