Clemson's top 15-ranked recruiting class took a hit Friday evening when four-star running back Cordarrian Richardson opted to open up his recruiting.

Richardson, the No. 9-rated running back prospect in the nation out of Memphis (Tenn.), revealed his plans to pull off his pledge via his twitter account.

Said Richardson: "After a long time thinking and talking to my mother and coaches about his decision, I've decided to re-open my recruitment. Clemson is not out of the conclusion and I consider them a priority."

Richardson was the Tigers' lone running back commit in their 2017 recruiting class, though Tigerillustrated.com has continued to track four-star back D'Andre Swift of Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's, a UGA commit. Swift has indicated he officially visit Clemson next month.

[Additional note on Richardson's decommitment]

Swift is rated third nationally among running back prospects according to Rivals.com, second overall regardless of position in the state of Pennsylvania.

We have also continued to track Fort Myers (Fla.) back Darrian Felix, the nation's No. 8 all-purpose back.

Tigerillustrated.com will have more on this story later this evening on The West Zone message board.
