Dabo's December to-do list

THE WEST ZONE message board | SHOP NOW: DEALS on CLEMSON apparel

The inaugural early signing period has added a new dynamic to the few weeks between the end of the regular season and a team’s bowl game.

Coaches have three weeks on the road recruiting in-between – two for the staffs that had conference championship games, which has frankly become Clemson’s welcome routine.

The Tigers typically have had most of their hay in the barn already for their recruiting class and would devote most of their efforts toward stopping at schools for prime underclassmen targets. Then at night, Dabo Swinney and assistants would conduct their in-home visits with their commitments and their families.

This cycle already stood to be different because Clemson's staff was going the distance and waiting on more premium talents.

But this two-week stretch has largely been defined by its efforts to close the deal with certain select targets in hopes they sign Dec. 20, particularly the expected midyear enrollees.
