The most impressive thing about Clemson's offense thus far?

LARRY WILLIAMS: I'd say it'd have to be Ray-Ray McCloud, the kid who said during spring practice that Dabo Swinney told him he wanted his foot back because it was so far up McCloud's backside.

So impressive how far this kid has come in a short amount of time. So impressive how he responded to that truly embarrassing moment against Troy. Some kids would've gone the other way after such a dumb decision, retreating and refusing to view it as a learning experience. McCloud didn't sulk. He just kept his head down and kept working, and it was telling that in the same game he otherwise had the best performance on offense.

What I love seeing in McCloud is not just the speed and the moves but the physicality. For someone that small, he has some serious torque and runs through contact. It was not this way last year when he was more of a finesse player. Now, he's lowering his shoulder and plowing for extra yardage.

McCloud's emergence certainly comes at a good time with Deon Cain continuing to confound. It really feels like the coaches are exasperated with his penchant for dropped balls, but they're doing everything they can to be positive and not appear exasperated.
