It took Clemson and Florida State a year-and-a-half to successfully push through the success initiative that allowed the Tigers to pocket every penny of the $4 million they earned by winning the ACC championship and advancing to the College Football Playoff.
And you could easily make the case that it took lawsuits against the ACC for the conference to finally consent to giving bigger pieces of the revenue to the entities who produce most of it.
It probably shouldn't have gotten to that point, but it got to that point.
We are told the legal bills for all this will cost Clemson somewhere between $3 and $5 million.
