Clemson has compiled a remarkable 20-3 record since 2011 in games decided by eight points or less. Frequent receiver rotations have been perhaps the most underrated element of that run.

It mattered that Sammy Watkins was so fresh (and thereby explosive) down the stretch of the 2013 Orange Bowl win over Ohio State. Same deal in 2015, late against Florida State in a tight, physical game.

And, of course, same deal last year when Mike Williams and Co. produced game-changing plays against Auburn, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Alabama. There have been other instances of it over the last six years, but those stand out.
