Barfield commits to Clemson

According to a report released this morning by Marc Narducci of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Camden NJ defensive tackle Shukree Barfield (6-4, 290, 4.9) has made a verbal commitment to Clemson.
Barfield said that he chose Clemson over Penn State, Tennessee and Tulane.

"I thought they have really treated me well while recruiting me," Barfield said. "I think I'm going to a good football program, and I'll get a good education."
The South Jersey standout was also a member of the basketball team and a two-way standout on the gridiron, doubling as both a defensive lineman and an offensive lineman.

9:02a.m. Tigerillustrated.com just spoke with Barfield and he did indeed confirm his commitment to Clemson. Barfield stated that he actually committed to defensive coordinator John Lovett three weeks ago.
He says he plans to trip to Clemson on July 19th where he'll get a better feel for the campus and student life.
Barfield said he had offers from Penn State, Tennessee, Iowa and Tulane before choosing Clemson.
