Croley Commits To Clemson

Wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney has picked up yet another verbal commitment for the Tigers, this time from Jacksonville, Fla. defensive back Brandon Croley (6-0, 180, 4.49). Croley camped at Clemson earlier this summer, and it was there where he began feeling special about the Tigers.
”Me and my coach, (Fred Culver) just got off the phone with Coach Swinney. We had him on three-way calling. We had him on the speaker phone. I told him that I wanted to be a Tiger and that I was committing. He was so excited. He was tickled,” said Croley at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

The all-region athlete took an unofficial visit to Clemson last month, camping with both of his teammates Augustus Ashley and Mike McIntosh.
“I’m going to start helping Clemson with Augustus and Mike now. To have them up at Clemson with me over the next four years would be really positive. I think it would be very special.”
As a junior for First Coast High, Croley racked up over 50 tackles and seven passes broken up.
Before committing to Clemson today he had an offer from UCF.
”Auburn sent a letter this morning. He camped there and was the No. 1 cornerback at their camp. I think they might be close to doing something, but he’s committed to Clemson. He’s already a Tiger,” said Culver.
The First Coast star will play cornerback for the Tigers. He projects as a full-qualifier academically.
Croley becomes the sixth verbal commitment of the 2003-04 recruiting campaign and the third overall for Swinney, who’s already responsible for Florida prospects Taylor Tremel and Bobby Hutchinson.
