"Really it was just the feel there," Mascoll said. "Ever since the eighth grade, Clemson has been one of my top schools. After going up there, I just really felt comfortable up there. Going up there two weeks ago, I got that feeling I've always had there."

Mascoll, a four-star rated prospect by Rivals.com, is billed 84th nationally overall regardless of position, 11th overall regardless of position in the state of Georgia.

He picked the Tigers over offers from numerous other major programs, including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, UGA, Miami, Nebraska, Auburn and Notre Dame.

"I just want to thank God and my family for being there for me through this long process," Mascoll added. "I just want to thank all the coaches that have recruited me through this whole process, but my recruitment process has ended and I'm 100-percent ALL IN."

Mascoll becomes the sixth verbal commitment for the Tigers' 2018 recruiting class, joining five-star Trevor Lawrence of Cartersville (Ga.), four-star linebacker Mike Jones Jr. of Bradenton (Fla.), four-star receiver Derion Kendrick of Rock Hill and three stars (DT) Josh Belk of Richburg and (LB) Jake Venables of Central.
