Jackson approved by NCAA as qualifier
Clemson 2004 signee Rashaad Jackson of Union has been approved as a qualifier by the NCAA Clearinghouse, a source told Tigerillustrated.com Thursday afternoon. The 6-foot-2, 273-pound tackle who played in last December's Shrine Bowl, was one of the most underrated members of the 2004 recruiting class.
Tigerillustrated.com has learned that the NCAA Clearinghouse has approved Clemson's waiver filed for Union signee Rashaad Jackson earlier this summer.

Jackson had been making plans to attend Southwest Mississippi Junior College until the waiver had been accepted by the clearinghouse.
The blue-chip defensive tackle, who was coached by long-time Union head coach Mike Anthony, had a highly productive senior campaign, totaling 132 tackles, 42 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
His pickup is a huge acquisition for recruiter David Blackwell and the Tigers, as the 273-pounder gives the defensive front another shot in the arm in the wake of incoming freshmen defensive tackles Jacquez McKissic and Elsmore Gabriel not enrolling next month as initially planned.
Last winter Tigerillustrated.com rated the two-star prospect as the state's 16th best recruit overall regardless of position.
The Clemson football team's first practice begins next Friday shortly after 2:00pm. The practice is closed to the public.
