Sunday evening, as expected, Marietta, Ga. wide receiver and Clemson recruiting target Ryan Jenkins opted to end his recruiting by publicly declaring for the Tigers at The Opening in Beaverton, Ore.

The 5-foot-11, 179-pounder and Tigerillustrated.com projection to Clemson had been down to Clemson and Oklahoma State in recent weeks, after also receiving offers from Washington, UCLA, Missouri, Mississippi State, Houston and Louisville, among other programs.
"I chose Clemson because I have a great relationship with the coaches and I love the atmosphere there as well," Jenkins told TI following his announcement.
Jenkins told TI as early as April that he wouldn't likely take "many more visits," with a few camp stops left before rendering a decision.
Jenkins participated in the Dabo Swinney Camp last month for the second consecutive year. The Lassiter standout, who had been on multiple unofficial visits to Clemson this year, is the younger brother of current Tiger cornerback Martin Jenkins.
"My brother is excited to see me go there so we can play football together," Jenkins said.
The younger Jenkins was last in town earlier this month where he spent extensive time with his brother, Sammy Watkins, running backs coach Tony Elliott and friend, Alvin Kamara of Norcross (Ga.), another Clemson recruiting target.
Rivals.com bills the wideout 47th nationally at his position and 26th overall regardless of position in the state of Georgia. Jenkins owns a 5.7 or high-level three-star rating.
He becomes the first receiver to cast his lot with the Tigers in the class of 2013. As a junior he hauled in 25 balls for 415 yards and five scores at Milton in Alpharetta.
The pledge now gives the Tigers 12 for the class of 2013. Clemson's staff could take over 20 commits in the class.
"I haven't let the Clemson coaches know yet because I lost my phone but as soon as this is over I will tell them," Jenkins said.
