1. Last week we prefaced our visitor preview by suggesting it might be premature to call Clemson’s prime time game Saturday night its biggest recruiting event this season, especially with the Florida State contest still on the calendar.

OK, as the dust has settled, we’re ready to call it.

Five aggregate five-stars over two sports. Seventeen football prospects with a four-star billing or higher over the next two cycles and at least a half-dozen sophomores who will stick as important regional prospects as they get older.

One Clemson contact crossed my path Saturday as the recruits headed toward their seating. He looked at the herd and deadpanned: “Lot of guys here today. We’ll take each one of them.”
