The Discovery Channel’s annual programming block runs in mid-July. But for Clemson football recruiting, this week’s early signing period qualifies.

More than any other cycle in recent memory, the Tigers elected to swim with the sharks and go the distance against elite competition for a select group of blue-chip targets.

The returns on those investments will come to light in various fashions this week. Some by whether the prospect signs with Clemson, others by simply whether the recruit does or doesn’t sign elsewhere.
