THE WEST ZONE message board | SHOP NOW: DEALS on CLEMSON apparel

To belabor the obvious, Clemson hit the jackpot at this position this winter with the acquisition of Trevor Lawrence, who by all accounts is as good as it gets.

Lawrence has yet to take a snap in practice. He has yet to play a down of collegiate football, yet already his presence has been felt, as within days of his arrival to campus as a midyear enrollee, two Tiger scholarship quarterbacks announced their intention to transfer - Zerrick Cooper, who worked as a second-team contributor for much of 2017 and career reserve Tucker Israel.

This all means the Tigers remain loaded at quarterback with arguably the nation's best recruited talent. However, the desired numbers are down, given the two transfers. For that reason, Tigerillustrated.com recruiting analyst Paul Strelow expects Clemson's staff to take at least one quarterback in its 2019 recruiting class, quite possibly a second player at the position.
