Clemson's coaches take pride in their penchant for playing a substantial portion of their first-year freshmen, having used nearly half of last year’s signing class en route to the national championship.

To that end, the numbers show that the programs that recruit at the highest level play the most freshmen.

The Tigers have welcomed in a considerably smaller signing class (14) than standard, which figures to proportionately reduce the total volume of freshmen who will play this season.

But odds remain that at least half of the class will get into the action.
