Clemson owns the nation’s fifth-best per-prospect star rating this recruiting class and is one of two teams (along with Ohio State) to have multiple five-star commitments despite its relatively small class size.

And yet it would be difficult to quantify a bump from the national championship run because the Tigers were already recruiting at a high level.

In this popular annual series, TigerIllustrated.com sat down with the majority of Clemson’s assistant football coaches at the Dabo Swinney preseason media kickoff to touch on a myriad of recruiting topics.

The first installment: Safeties coach Mickey Conn, the longtime Loganville (Ga.) Grayson coach promoted in January after joining the program from the high school ranks the year before as a support staffer.
