1. Clemson's staff extended its third running back offer this month Monday since moving beyond its top target.

Decatur (Ala.) Austin four-star Asa Martin picked up an offer while making his first visit to Clemson with his mother.

Austin (5-11, 198), ranked No. 127 nationally by Rivals.com, plans an Aug. 24 announcement and had already declared Alabama, Auburn and Florida the three finalists earlier this summer.

We introduced Clemson’s interest in Martin two weeks ago, a week after co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott and area recruiter Todd Bates began the Tigers’ push.
