Vincent commits to Clemson

Allendale-Fairfax linebacker Courtney Vincent (6-1, 220, 4.6) has verbally committed to Clemson, giving the Tigers their third pledge of the 2003-04 recruiting campaign.
Vincent was offered by offensive line coach and recruiter Ron West several weeks ago while attending camp. The all-state defender had a stellar showing in workouts, demonstrating a great deal of athleticism, instincts and agility. He also ran a 4.52/40.

”He’s one of the best players in this state. He’s a star. He’ll be a good one for them. Clemson really moved on him hard early. They put forth the biggest effort in recruiting him and I think that was a factor. I know that he can play early there at his position,” said head coach Carlos Cave Monday Morning.
Speaking of Monday morning, that's when Vincent pulled the trigger (10:10 a.m.).
"I called Clemson's recruiting coordinator, David Blackwell, and committed. Me and Coach Cave got in here on the speaker phone and called him. I told him I was coming to Clemson. I'm very, very excited. This is where I need to be for the next four years of my life," said Vincent.
Vincent is rated as the state’s No. 3 linebacker prospect and No. 16 prospect overall by Tigerillustrated.com.
He was also recruited by Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech and South Carolina.
