Clemson's coaching staff may not be done at wide receiver for its current recruiting class, which is set to be finalized on February 7, National Signing Day.

The Tigers have been a big player from the start with Phenix City (Ala.) Central's Justyn Ross, a five-star prospect and the No. 2-rated wide receiver recruit in the nation.

Ross, billed by Rivals.com as the No. 1 football recruit overall regardless of position in the state of Alabama, also is rated 20th nationally overall regardless of position.

Ross took his Clemson official visit in November. He's set on completing official visit trips to both Auburn and Alabama this month before rendering a decision before or on February 7.

For months, Clemson has been at or near the top of Ross' pecking order and in fact entered the New Year as the team to beat. Clemson assistant coaches Jeff Scott and Todd Bates paid a visit to Phenix City in mid-December during on-campus bowl practices. Scott is Clemson's receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator, while Bates serves as the recruiter of record.

Clemson's staff has not been involved with any other wideout down the stretch, meaning Ross is obviously over-sign worthy and a prospect who would project for early and perhaps substantial playing time.
