Clemson has secured its 14th commitment of the 2018 recruiting class, as Butler (Ga.) Taylor County's Lyn-J Dixon declared for the Tigers a few moments ago.

Dixon (5-11, 180) is billed 10th nationally among all-purpose backs, according to Rivals.com. He picked the Tigers over Oklahoma State, though during the recruiting process Dixon also claimed offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame, Louisville and Tennessee, among others. Dixon was a Tennessee commit for months before backing off that pledge earlier this fall.
While missing several games as a senior because of an ankle injury, Dixon rushed for 648 yards and 11 touchdowns on 73 carries in six contests. He amassed 1,914 yards and 35 rushing touchdowns in 11 games as a junior, also catching 28 passes for 312 yards and three scores.
Dixon, who had been a projection to Clemson by Tigerillustrated.com, will serve as the lone back in the Tigers' 2018 recruiting class.
The No. 44-rated player overall regardless of position in the state of Georgia marks the second pledge for the Tigers today, joining surprise pledge Jackson Carman of Fairfield, OH, a five-star and the nation's No. 1-rated offensive tackle target.
Tigerillustrated.com also has projected five-star defensive end K.J. Henry to Clemson. Henry is set to reveal his decision at 4:20 p.m. today, which will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
Clemson could close the day ranked in the top five nationally in star rating average, with a chance to build on that ranking through January prior to the second Signing Day.
Today is the first of two Signing Days for the 2017-2018 recruiting cycle, so Clemson is not yet done with its class, as numerous official visits will occur in January, followed by additional signings for the recruiting class on National Signing Day, February 7.
