The Clemson Tigers remain red hot in recruiting, as another 5-star prospect is now in the boat after Clemmons (N.C.) defensive end K.J. Henry pledged to the Tigers at a news conference this afternoon.

Henry (6-5, 240) had been a projection to Clemson by Tigerillustrated.com after leaning to Clemson for much of the recruiting process.
The West Forsyth product officially selected the Tigers over Alabama, UGA, Virginia Tech and South Carolina, though he also entertained many other offers throughout the recruiting process, notably Ohio State, Florida State, Nebraska, Florida, Notre Dame and USC.
We believe Henry projects to the rush end position often utilized not only as a hand-in-the-dirt end spot but also as a glorified outside linebacker called on to drop into short coverages.
How much Clemson's staff needs him out of the gate would depend upon whether Austin Bryant entertains early NFL entry.
Rivals.com bills Henry as the nation's No. 3-rated weakside end and 23rd nationally overall regardless of position. Henry also becomes the fourth five-star signee in the Tigers' 2018 recruiting class, which is not yet done, as Clemson's coaches will sign additional prospects on National Signing Day, February 7, the second signing period of the 2017-2018 recruiting cycle.
We will have more on Henry's decision later this evening.
